Dreams Come True
There’s no time like the present to try a new adventure, revisit memories, or bond with friends and family. Your dream may be big, or small. It may be riding a horse for the first time, attending a sporting event with grandkids, or revisiting a childhood home.
Your dreams are important to us because they are important to you. They are what make you unique.
Our signature Dare To Dream program recognizes the special hopes and aspirations of our residents–and then makes them a reality! We aim to make at least one resident’s dream come true each month in our community.

Stories From Our Community

Cornelia
Cornelia had a simple wish for her Dare to Dream. She wanted to take her family to see Lock and Dam 13 on the Mississippi River, where she had always enjoyed watching the barges go through.
The timing was perfect when we pulled up to the lock and dam on that warm sunny morning just as there was a double barge waiting to come through. Cornelia’s family rode along as we drove past her old house, past where she used to work, and through the downtown. Then we all ate lunch at Krumpets Restaurant & Bakery, Cornelia’s favorite spot, before heading back to Addington Place. It was an exciting day for her, and It meant so much to her and her family.

Irma
Irma had a fond memory of Breitbach’s Country Dining in Balltown, Iowa, her favorite restaurant that had a scenic outlook out back. For her Dare To Dream, she wanted to go and have lunch there with her family.
After a great lunch and a spectacular view at the lookout of a deep valley and the surrounding farmland, Irma remarked how much had changed since she was there last! We took one last detour on the way back, and drove past her old home. Irma enjoyed her special day out.

Merlin
Merlin, or Senator Hulse, as he’s known around the community, enjoyed his Dare To Dream where he was honored by his high school alma mater for the countless hours he has committed to supporting non-profit organizations over the years. Merlin even wore his 1941 high school sweater to the ceremony where he received his Service Award. Thoughtful as always, he remembered his friends back home at Prairie Hills, and made sure to bring home enough cake to share. It was a terrific day and Merlin shared his pride in being recognized at coffee hour.
