Jean enjoyed her Dare to Dream event and had a good day visiting Dairy Queen and feeding the birds.

Dare to Dream

Jean
Jean told us the thing she wanted to do most for her Dare to Dream was to go to the local Dairy Queen and get a Large Snickers Blizzard, then go to the store to get some bird seed for her birds, which she dutifully takes care of daily.

Bev
Josie Doudney, Assistant Manager at Corridor Crossing Place, was talking to Beverly one day about her daughter’s t-ball game the evening before. Beverly stated she would love to go to a baseball game here in Cedar Rapids.
Josie thought this would be a great Dare to Dream for Beverly. Josie contacted Richard, Beverly’s son, to see if he would like to join, as the two of them used to attend Kernels' games together. On Thursday July 11th, Beverly, Richard and Josie went to supper at Applebee’s, which Beverly chose and said its one of her favorites. After supper, they went to the ballpark to watch the Kernels vs. the Great Lakes Loons. Although the Kernels lost, it was a beautiful night for a game and Beverly got to enjoy being at the stadium. She even had one of her favorite treats: a grape snow cone.

Juanita
When asked what she would like to do for her Dare to Dream, Juanita said, “I would like to have a good hot cup of tea and have someone to spend time with me.” We decided to take Juanita to The Blue Strawberry Coffee Company.
They make their own coffee, and their food is homemade from scratch. Juanita loved the friendly conversation and smiled the whole time.
